2004 Entry Requirements & Content Attributes

Content presented at the eMedia Screening will offer Rights and Pricing intended for use in a variety of educational settings. Pricing, policies, use rights and details of content offerings will be posted to the Instructional Technology Marketplace website (www.itmonline.com) by July 1, 2004 and will remain throughout the year.

Agencies wanting to acquire any rights to the content presented in this Screening should check the website for the particular rights in which they are interested. Direct links to each presenter will be available. Screening entries must include the Entry Requirements listed below. Additional listings are typical of available rights or other attributes

 

 Entry  Requirements

Pricing:
 
bullet Presenters must submit a Distributor’s Policy and Pricing (DPP) form online for entries specifying a firm program leasing price structure and firm policy on all rights, by the Screening entry deadline of June 11, 2003.
 
bullet

Prices for support materials available for purchase must be accurately stated both online and in any material distributed at the screening. If exact prices are not known, price ceilings must be stated and updated online in the PSI form.

Availability:

bullet Programs (content) presented must be available for use during the Fall semester of 2005 and/or the Spring semester of 2006.
 
bullet For any entry with support materials, they must be available August 1, 2005 for first semester use or December 1, 2005 for second semester use.

Screening Room Handouts:

bullet For any entry with support materials, one copy or realistic working copy must be provided to the Screening Registration desk upon arrival to be checked for compliance with all stated policies. Any non-compliant item will be removed and the distributor will receive a one-point deduction.
 
bullet For any entry with support materials, one copy or realistic working copy relating to the entry must be available at the back of the screening room or at the presenters display space for registered participants to review. Screeners may bring support materials into the screening room.
 

 Typical Distribution Rights

bullet Broadcast Transmission:
Rights for unlimited transmissions during the school year for programs presented. Unless otherwise agreed to, these transmissions are intended for school use only.
 
bullet School Off-Air Record
and use rights for specific terms may be available at no extra charge for programs presented. Any charge for these rights will be clearly specified online.
 
bullet Cable Origination:
(Non-simultaneous Schedule) Rights for educational cable channels, serving all or some of the leasing agency’s student population may be available; any charges for these rights will be clearly specified.
 
bullet Duplication/Distribution:
Rights that provide for non-broadcast tape distribution of programs for the student population covered in the lease agreement for the series or program; any charges for these rights will be clearly specified. This right does not include hard copy sales or rental.
 
bullet Internet/Intranet:
Rights that provide for use over the Internet or an agency Intranet, or similar use, for the student population covered in the lease agreement for the series or program. This Right may or may not be included in other use rights.  Check each presenter's  policies for details. 

Other

bullet Program or series may, or may not, have accompanying instructional support materials designed to facilitate use by the intended users available or in development.
 
bullet Entry may be available for lease and/or purchase on videotape, DVD, CD-ROM or multiple digital formats.
bullet Content containing language or situations not appropriate for classroom use should be “flagged” on the PSI form.
 
bullet Presenters will be asked to verify the initial date of distribution for their entry and/or whether they have presented the entry at a previous screening.
