The Song Bag 32 - 15 minute programs Grade(s): PreK - 1 Curriculum: Music
This series invites children to hear and learn a variety of songs selected from the best of our folk tradition, and encourages children to participate in rhythmic movement, creativity, careful listening, expressive singing, and the playing of simple instruments. Musical concepts and instruments are skillfully introduced, so that children grow in musical confidence, and in their ability to enjoy music.
Host: Tony
Saletan, television teacher for The Song Bag, holds an A. B. from
Harvard College, and an A. M. T. in music education from the Harvard
Graduate School of Education. He served as a music consultant to the
Harvard Preschool, and the Newton, Massachusetts Public Schools, and
as a music instructor at Eliot-Pearson School at Tufts University.
Tony Saletan created the popular "Let's All Sing" and is also well
known as a folk singer in concert, and has recorded LP albums for
Folk Legacy, Prestige International, National Geographic Society,
