Time to Draw

32 - 15 minute programs
Grade(s): 4-8
Curriculum: Art, Drawing

The programs are based upon the seven elements of drawing: surface, size, contour lines, overlapping, shading, density, and foreshortening.  Each of these elements is a separate and unique way to overcome the flat surface of the paper and create the illusion of depth or three dimension we call perspective. The conventional "linear perspective" is represented in an entirely new and simplified way under the name, alignment. The simplicity of items used in early programs assures achievement vital in developing confidence and wholesome attitudes. Time to Draw requires no special art materials, only pencil and paper.

Host: Bruce McIntyre has successfully taught thousands of students to draw through the medium of television. For ten years he was an artist with Walt Disney Studios, and for four years was a cartoonist at Disney Land.

Teacher Guide: 69 Pages containing: Program Content, General Instructional Objectives, Specific Learning Skills, Classroom Preparation, Follow-up activities and Teacher Suggestions.  Also included are reproducible flash cards and student worksheets.
